Studio Policies

To ensure a positive and consistent experience for all students and families, please take a moment to review our studio policies. These guidelines help us maintain a smooth, respectful, and enjoyable learning environment.

Lesson Attendance and Punctuality

We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Student Cancellations and Absences

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if a lesson needs to be cancelled in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson.
Students are entitled to up to 2 make-up lesson credits per term. A medical certificate may be required for make-up lessons beyond 2 credits. Lessons missed without the correct notice cannot be refunded or credited.

Teacher Absences

In the event that the teacher is unavailable due to illness, professional commitments, or emergencies, the studio will notify families as soon as possible.
Lessons missed due to the teacher’s absence will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time or credited as a make-up lesson.

Illnesses

Students who are unwell should not attend lessons in person. If a student attends while contagious, the studio may ask them to leave for the safety of others.
Zoom lessons are available for students who are unwell, but still wish to participate remotely.

Payment and Term Fees

Lesson fees are payable upfront for the full term unless an approved payment plan has been arranged. By choosing a payment plan, you are committing to payment of the full term fees, with instalments due according to the payment schedule outlined on your term invoice. All payment due dates and amounts will be provided on your invoice. Lessons will be suspended until payment is made.

Behaviour

Students must treat teachers, and fellow students with respect. Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in temporary or permanent suspension of lessons.

Discontinuing Lessons

Lessons are booked and paid per term. Once a term has started, fees are non-refundable if a student chooses to withdraw. If you wish to withdraw your child from lessons, please notify the studio before the next term begins to avoid being charged for the following term. This ensures fairness to teachers and other students, and allows us to manage scheduling effectively.

Materials and Equipment

Students should bring any required materials (sheet music, lyrics) unless provided by the studio.
Studio instruments must be treated with care. Damage caused intentionally may incur costs.

Safety and Supervision

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising students before and after lessons.
Students under 12 must be picked up and dropped off directly at the door for their safety.
Mic and Muse Studios ensures a safe and supportive environment at all times.
